Can you have fun with finance?

The one question everyone has asked me when setting up this blog has been, “How can you possibly have fun with finance?”

Well the answer to this is pretty simple and can be split into two parts.

First, you can have fun from finance on an indirect basis. Say you were to become an expert on your own finances, you could save a fortune and then have more money to spend on fun things. Finance, therefore, equals fun in the long run.

Other than that, you can have a lot of fun derived directly from finance. Have you ever speculated on oil prices? I have and whilst it is potentially damaging to your health and budget, it can be an awful lot of fun.

The forex is the same, especially the cable market where fluctuations can be dramatic and fortunes can be made or lost quicker than in Las Vegas or Atlantic City.
